The bamboo is still used to manufacture various products, such as baskets, cups, boxes, mats and pieces of art at workshops in the Arashiyama area. The bamboo grove trail is known in Japanese as Chikurin-no-komichi. The grove is one of the most beautiful bamboo forests in Japan.
